Professor Emerita Dr. Loretta C. Ford, the Awardee for the year 2010, an American with 90 years of age, earned her advanced degree from Schools of Nursing and Education, University of Colorado. Dr. Ford is an internationally known as the founder and “mother” of the Nurse Practitioner movement in the USA.

Miss Akhtar   Banu, age 72, is an eminent nurse leader in Bangladesh.  She has been diligently working for the advancement of nursing in Bangladesh, from education, service as well as  management. Miss Akhtar Banu received her basic nursing education from Dhaka Medical College Hospital.  She later received Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing School and Hospital Administration from New Zealand and also obtained Bachelor and Master Degrees in Nursing Education from Boston University, U.S.A. She was the first Bangladeshi nurse to receive a Master Degree.

Madame Lin Ju Ying

Biography

 Madame Lin Ju-Ying has inspired health profesionals and policy makers in The People's Republic of China and around the world with her intellect, vision and courage. Her career in nursing spans 60 years. After graduation from Peking Union Medical College in 1941, Madame Lin worked as a school nurse, a nursing supervisor, director of nursing service at Beijing Hospital and as president of the hospitals' s Nursing School.

Dr. (Mrs.) Sulochana Krishnan is an eminent nurse leader who is in the forefront of the advancement of nursing profession in India. She has inspired health professions in her country with her intellect, vision and courage. She graduated with Bachelor Degree in Chemistry form Queen Mary’s College, University of Madras, Chennai. She then enrolled in the College of Nursing, University of Delhi, where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree with Honor, and Master of Nursing in 1961. She was the first Indian Nurse to have received a Doctoral Degree when she graduated from Teacher’s College, Columbia University.
